LGBT broker set up
Peter Hubbard is special adviser to the firm which claims to be the first LGBT insurance intermediary.
Emerald Life, a full-service UK insurance broker offering products tailored for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, has been launched.
The company's backers include former UK General CEO Peter Hubbard, who the broker said is a special adviser.
According to Emerald it aims to provide a wide range of financial, legal and lifestyle services. Its first products are home, term life, wedding and pet insurance and it added that a travel product would follow shortly.

FSCS gives first insight on increasing levy to £394m
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has indicated its levy for 2025/26 will rise to £394m from £265m this financial year as it cited having lower surpluses to carry forward and offset bills – a factor that has benefited brokers for two years in a row.
