KPMG poll highlights policy pressure

More than a third of insurance executives globally believe that the need to comply with government policy/enforcement is the top business model disruptor.

More than a third of insurance executives worldwide believe that government policy or enforcement agenda will disrupt their business models over the next three years, according to a survey by KPMG.

In a report on the challenges and opportunities insurers face, Empowered for the future, published last week, the professional service company said that, of the 70 respondents to its poll, 30% expect to change their operating models in order to balance for new growth against the reality of shrinking

Industry reacts to discount rate change

Insurance industry specialists have welcomed the government moving the personal injury discount rate to 0.5% with PwC calculating it will lower motor premiums by £50 on average.
