Big Data could lead to insurers charging customers more, says FCA
Watchdog decides against launching a full market study.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has found that "broadly positive consumer outcomes" result from the use of Big Data
However the regulator also warned that it has concerns that Big Data might enhance insurers' and brokers' ability to identify opportunities to charge certain customers more.
The findings came as the FCA published its feedback statement on Big Data in retail general insurance following a call last November for input from the industry.
