At the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) conference, a broker told me that he had decided to sell his business because he was frustrated by insurers' attitudes to commercial claims settlements. This broker was well below retirement age, and had built up a successful business. His view was that he could no longer work in an industry that seemed to do everything to get out of honouring its obligations.
If this is the case, then it appears that there has been a radical change in attitude
