Many would say that 2007 was a tumultuous year for the insurance industry. In particular, it will be remembered for the increasing pace of consolidation, and the two floods that cost the sector up to £3bn. The floods certainly would have blown many insurers' plans off course. However, after three years of a soft market, insurers have been speculating that it will harden in 2008. This should improve the fortunes of all sectors, but will 2008 be a good year for insurers and brokers?
