The new claims legislation that impacts brokers
Stephen Netherway warns that failure to comply with the Third Parties Act will lead to unwelcome costs.
In my previous article for Insurance Age, I explained how all of the hype around the Insurance Act had allowed certain other new legislation to disappear, under the radar.
The Enterprise Act was a case in point, and now I believe so it has become with the Third Parties (rights against insurers) Act 2010.
'Third Parties 2010' comes into force on 1 August and replaces an older act from 1930.
It's introducing some significant change with third parties from that date allowed to bring claims directly
