News analysis: LV’s pull out from broker home insurance raises concerns

Experts remain upbeat about brokers’ future in personal lines

Brokers have reacted with disappointment and concern following the news that LV has decided to stop writing home insurance business sourced through their channel.

The provider said, following a consultation first announced last November, that it will cease new business and renewals via brokers on its ABC Home products on 1 April.

“I don’t think insurers take these things lightly, but when you hear somebody pulling out of a particular market it’s always cause for concern,” observed John Noone
