Biba 2021: MP John Glen’s keynote speech
The economic secretary to the Treasury tackled insurance premium tax, broker Financial Services Compensation Scheme levies, cladding, Brexit and more in his keynote address to the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s 2021 conference yesterday.
Glen, who has been in the post since 2018 was quizzed by Graeme Trudgill, executive director at Biba.
Beginning with the theme of appropriate regulation Trudgill challenged Glen that Biba members were low risk but heavily regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority questioning if there could be simpler, better more cost-effective regulation to enable better productivity.
