Zurich SME head Edwards: Speed and service key to maintaining double-digit growth

Zurich is seeking to improve its referral process and continue to invest in underwriters as part of its drive for double-digit new business growth across the SME space.

Its divisional boss Will Edwards also advocated closer relations between his business and Zurich’s mid-market equivalent so that brokers can trade seamlessly either on or offline with those clients that fall in the grey areas between the two.

Edwards, pictured, took over as Zurich’s head of SME in March 2022 replacing Paul Tombs who left the industry. He admits joining the business at an opportune time given what had gone on before.

Brokers upbeat on 2024 growth – Aviva

Brokers are more optimistic about growth in the coming year than they have been since before 2020, according to Aviva, with 83% expecting their business to grow compared to 76% last year.
