The Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) has completed its first bankruptcy order against an uninsured driver. Stephen Harrison, from Sheffield, was found liable for causing a collision on the A57 at Drinsley Nook in Linconshire in August 2002 while driving uninsured. He was fined £50 and disqualified for two months. After compensating the occupants of the other car, the MIB began proceedings against Mr Harrison, who was eventually ordered to pay £15,000 in damages, whereupon he was declared bankrupt.
