Despite concerns over control issues and some limitations concerningminimum size of business, provincial brokers seem to be turning to theirwholesale brethren for help in ever-increasing numbers, as Ewan Campbellexplains
With capacity drying up and carriers shrinking in number, wholesalebrokers can be a lifeline for their smaller, retail colleagues. Of course,that does not mean they can please all of the people all of the time - ifpresented with an unsuitable risk, they will certainly not be able toplace it in today's hard market. But they can operate as an effectiveinterface between insurer and retail intermediary.
