A quango set up to study the UK's 'compensation culture' has been charged with making recommendations "on action to ensure that regulation and its enforcement are proportionate, accountable, consistent, transparent and targeted".

The Cabinet-Office-appointed Better Regulation Task Force will be headed by Teresa Graham, partner at chartered accountants Baker Tilly. It will look at the impact of litigation on the cover sought by public and private organisations and how insurance can influence
