Thrill seekers are increasingly turning to extreme winter sports to experience the ultimate buzz but, as Paul Thomas explains, they could be in danger of losing more than just their health if they fail to obtain the right travel insurance

It was not so long ago that a winter sports holiday meant skiing, snowboarding or possibly tobogganing. Nowadays, the choice of winter sports is much greater, and the list is getting more extreme each year. Increasingly more people want to experience ice climbing up frozen waterfalls, or venture on activity holidays, such as travelling to the Arctic to go swimming in the ice, snowmobiling and dog-sledding.
