An overwhelming majority of staff in the insurance broking sector feel increased stress at work because of the recession, new research has revealed.

Employment law consultancy Peninsula found that 76% of the nearly 600 employees it surveyed in the broking profession felt stressed, particularly about job security and potential redundancies.

Also, two-thirds of the 148 employers polled said they had seen an increase in stress-related employee absences.
