Brokers face court action

The liquidator of Independent Insurance warned all brokers with outstanding commitments to the collapsed group to settle their accounts. Pricewaterhouse Coopers originally threatened approximately 100 brokers with court action should they choose not to agree a settlement. The outstanding amount is understood to be in the millions. This warning followed an out of court settlement with broker Berkeley Burke in which it agreed to pay Independent's creditors the full premium
