Global broker Aon has reported a 4% rise in total revenue to $7.6bn (£5.2bn) for the year ending December 2008. The risk and insurance division rose by 5% to $6.2bn, with organic growth in commissions and fees of 2%. In the fourth quarter, Aon's UK business saw a 12% fall in risk and insurance revenue to $196m; organic revenue grew 1%, "primarily due to growth in the captive business".
