Local authorities feel they are facing an increase in fraudulent insurance claims, according to research by Zurich Municipal, the public sector insurance provider. Responses from 118 local authorities showed fraudulent claims are an issue for 63% of them; 38% expect the problem to grow; and a quarter believe more than 20% of their claims to be fraudulent.
