Axa's chief executive officer has admitted the insurer's motor insurance offering was not up to scratch, as the insurer did not have the right people in place to implement an effective strategy.
Philippe Maso, who has been in the role for seven months, said that from a structural, cost-base and organisational point of view, the insurer was slightly too expensive.
