The concentration of broking distribution in Lloyd's inspired the launch of seven new syndicates in 2007, despite concerns that broker business was being taken away from the London Market, according to an industry expert.
Bill Cooper, MD and head of relationship management, financial institutions at Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, said: "Last year, more than 20 new syndicates took on the challenge of joining Lloyd's. However, just seven made it - Pembrace, Ark, Montpelier, Mitsui, Goldman Sachs
