Towergate has batted back rumours that, following its appointment of Patrick Snowball from Norwich Union, the company has set its sights on a reverse takeover of NU rival Royal and SunAlliance. A spokesman dismissed the rumour as "flattering but fanciful", as the market absorbed the news of Snowball's appointment, which has been widely acknowledged as a coup for Towergate. RSA's current market capitalisation and share price suggests its value is at least four times that of Towergate.
