Competition in the pub, restaurant, and hotel market is fierce, with virtually every commercial insurer offering cover. And now, Privilege is about to move into this sector, says Steve Banner.
Virtually all of the major commercial insurers offer packages forsmall- to medium-sized businesses, as do smaller players such as Norman
and Avon. In addition, a large number of brokers offer schemes, some of
them addressing specialist areas. Crownsway's appetising-sounding Asian
Spice scheme, aimed primarily at Indian restaurants and takeaways, is a
good example. Preston Whiteside has a scheme aimed at hotels and
guesthouses with up to 40 letting rooms.
