UK Underwriting has acquired the renewal rights of part of the NIG special risks portfolio. The deal takes UK Underwriting's annual premium income to almost £50m. It plans to grow this by further developing the portfolio. Paul Smith, managing director of UK Underwriting, said: "We are delighted to have entered into an agreement with NIG and we believe that certain sectors of this portfolio offer potential for development with the specialist skills and techniques of our management team."
