Broking network start-up Cobra is in talks that may lead to the full or part acquisition of a Lloyd's broker in the fourth quarter.

Cobra, which has also recently added Royal & SunAlliance to its insurer panel, is looking to invest in Lloyd's to build on its current position.

The network, which now has 49 members after its first year of trading, is also reinforcing its proposition to existing and prospective members by offering loyalty bonus-style additional benefits upon commitment to three-year
