Chester-based insurance brokers Evans Insurance Services and M&S have merged to become Evans and Salt Insurance.

The combined broker has a premium income of £3m and operates in both commercial and personal lines. No staff were lost in the merger and one new employee taken on, taking the total workforce to 13.

The owners of the former companies - Robert Salt and Simon Evans - have both become partners in the new business. Evans and Salt Insurance is based in the former Evans premises in
