The first month of the long-awaited trial against three former directors of Independent Insurance heard detailed evidence about the company's claims policy, as well as allegations of reinsurance arrangements that were supposedly not disclosed to the board.

Former chairman and managing director Michael Bright, former deputy managing director Philip Condon, and former finance director Dennis Lomas have been charged with conspiracy to defraud.
