Brokers are reporting a good recovery from the sudden demise of
Independent, with many having already moved Independent books of business
to other insurers.


"We have re-placed clients' business in the vast majority of cases, all of
it with insurers we already had accounts with," said David Oatley,
managing director of Cadogan Insurance Brokers.


Brokers have reported a positive response from insurers on the whole, with
Colin Ryan, managing director of Ryan Insurance Brokers, describing the
commercial
