In three years, Dickson Manchester has gone from having a good book of business and no brand identity, to being one of the UK's largest specialist PI brokers. Shona Cronin reports.
Dickson Manchester has only been trading for three years, but isalready one of the largest specialist professional indemnity brokers in
the UK and is predicting a commission income of £2.1m for 1999. It has
also built up a massive wholesale book - 85% of its business is now
derived from sub-brokers.
The Lloyd's broker began trading on 31 December 1996, with commission
income of £1.35m, following a management buyout of the professional
indemnity broking business of Holman Insurance Brokers. Charles
