QBE has boosted its general liability capacity from £15m to £25m in the UK and Continental Europe as part of plans to grow its packaged commercial offering in specific classes of business.

The move, which is expected to see the expansion of its public liability agency base, is backed by investment in its regional and central underwriting capabilities. It has also enlisted the skills of Ash Bathia, portfolio manager for general liability, now also UK public and products liability, product leader.
