The Financial Services Authority has published the draft rules forthe new Financial Ombudsman Services and is seeking industry comment by 31
August. Under the proposals, FSA authorised insurers will have to: publish
complaints procedures and make them easily available to consumers,
investigate complaints within a maximum of eight weeks, inform
dissatisfied customers of the new ombudsman service, keep records of
complaints for a minimum of six years, and submit returns to the FSA on
