The Association of British Insurers' survey at the end of 2001 showed what a huge problem insurance fraud has become. Two in three adults said they would make a dishonest insurance claim if they thought they could get away with it. With the insurance industry losing over £1bn a year through personal lines fraud alone, insurers have a responsibility to honest policyholders and shareholders to tackle fraud.
