Britain's motorists are "woefully unprepared" for driving in extreme weather conditions according to a recent report by Aon's Private Clients division.

The research, conducted independently by ICM, found that the UK's drivers could be a danger to themselves and others when driving in extremes of heat, snow, rain and fog.

The survey revealed a startling lack of awareness: for example, some thought a battery charger would be of more use than additional warm clothing when stuck in a snowdrift. Where
