A report by NIG into the technology claims caused by the staff of SMEs has prompted RBS Insurance's director of commercial, Steve Kingshott, to call for broader insurance policies for technology risks. Insurers are unable to provide cover for risks created by an SMEs' own staff, and with 75% of SMEs admitting to having no disaster recovery plan for their data, the potential cost of lost data is enormous.
