The uptake of individual private medical insurance has fallen for the
fourth consecutive year, according to market analyst Laing & Buisson.

In its annual round-up of the PMI sector, Laing & Buisson found that the
number of individuals taking out PMI schemes has decreased by 3.2% over
the past 12 months. The overall number of individuals covered by PMI rose
by 5.5% to 6.8 million, however, due to an increase in take-up of
corporate schemes - up 7.4% on last year.
