Peter Staddon, technical director at the British Insurance Brokers' Association, identified several strategic factors which BIBA believes hold the key to brokers' destiny.
Staddon said the broker is the middle ground in insurance, flanked by underwriters and customers - which both have a considerable degree control over the broker: "In order to exert influence over them or control them is not easy. We are insurance's version of the United Nations peacekeeping force."
He warned of challenges that
