When Mark Cliff joined Axa he brought the insurer back into focus by setting a clear agenda and listening to brokers. Alex Broad explains.

Sponsoring the FA Cup helped bring Axa into the limelight with the
public and brokers alike. Now that the sponsorship is almost over, Mark
Cliff and his team need to build momentum and new business in the
market.


Mr Cliff joined Axa as commercial and intermediary lines director in
September 1999, after working in Royal & SunAlliance's global worldwide
practice, where he pulled together the group's commercial insurance
business on a worldwide basis.
