Aon's High Court case against Yorkshire broker Smithson Mason hascollapsed. The national broker attempted to enforce a restrictive covenant
against its former employee John Bow, who left its Leeds office to join
Leeds-based Smithson Mason. In court, Aon accepted a restraint of less
than eight weeks from trial rather than the remainder of the 12 months it
had suggested was reasonable. Aon also withdrew its claim for damages.
