Wellington Underwriting has launched the first-ever chemical terror
protection policy, which guards against financial loss incurred when a
building is rendered uninhabitable by a chemical or biological weapon.


Ben Garston, senior underwriter at Wellington, said: "The majority of
traditional coverage is geared towards the destruction caused by fire and
explosion, and only provides cover when actual property damage has
occurred. However, with the increase in ideological terrorism there is a
real gap
