Schooling on traffic accidents.

With the long nights drawing in and children back at school, this time of year is the most risky for road accidents outside schools, but insurers have their parts to play in promoting safety.

Last month saw a return to school for children and a recommencement
of the school run for their parents.

The increased volume of traffic on the roads at school pick-up times and
dangerous driving practices outside schools means more road accidents
involving children, particularly between the hours of 3-5pm.

The fuel crisis may have temporarily persuaded parents to cut down on
journeys, but the trend in recent years is for more and more parents to
drive their children to school.
