Groupama UK is claiming it is on target for record profit in 2005 after publishing its results on the first half. Headline figures included a 43% increase in profit to £16.5m, with a 6% increase in revenues on the same period last year.

Its commercial business was a strong performer, with SME revenues up 50%, comparable with the same period in 2004. While the insurer did not issue a specific figure for its combined operating ratio, it claimed this remains comfortably under 100%.
