Brokers and intermediaries will be able to join the InsuranceOmbudsman Bureau under changes to the IOB's articles of association.
At the bureau's annual general meeting last month, the board approved
plans to repeal its ruling that only insurers can join the IOB.
Details of the proposed changes were published in a consultative document
last November (PB, December 1997, p3).
According to the IOB's new articles "any consultant, broker, loss
adjuster, agent or intermediary whose business is advising
