Traditionally, brokers have always had a lot of agencies in order to offer clients a wide range of policies. Jennifer Jarrett says that now is the time to be more strategic in your thinking.
Over the past four or five years there have been many stories aboutinsurance companies reducing the number of their agencies. It is reported
that they have taken arbitrary decisions regarding size, payment
experience and location of the broker and, based on their own strategy,
have withdrawn agencies.
It is certainly true that insurers are seeking volume and quality and are
looking very closely at how they achieve this. They appear to have
infinite resources to experiment with direct insurance
