Bermudian insurance group Ace has completed its acquisition of the UK
and international property and casualty business of Cigna International
for £2.2bn in cash. Subject to regulatory approval, the business is set to
be rebranded as Ace by 1 October.


Steve Schleisman is replacing Gary Schmalzriedt as chairman and chief
executive officer of Ace Europe, previously known as Cigna Europe. He
joined the Ace Group of companies in 1998 as executive vice president.


Mr Schmalzriedt has been made president
