Last month, I had a first-hand reminder of the value of insurance
after one of my belongings was stolen from Euston Station. Having reported
the theft and got back to the office I called my household insurer. I
obviously do not keep my policy documents at work but needed to check
whether my insurance covers goods taken outside the house.


Having spent 10 minutes being passed to three different call centre
operators, I got through to someone who made some sense - or so I
thought.
