The damage from the Yorkshire floods is likely to run into hundreds of millions of pounds in clear-up and business interruption costs. Heavy rain caused the River Don in Sheffield to burst its banks wreaking havoc in the nearby streets.

Steve Proctor, claims manager at Walker Midgley Insurance Brokers, a member of the Broker Network, told Professional Broking that one of its clients, a metalworks near Attercliffe Common, a main road next to the River Don, was facing a claim likely to run into
