Outsourcing allows brokers to concentrate their resources on the most profitable areas of business, and now the options for farming out specific tasks, so retaining control, are more varied than ever, says Steve Banner.

When did you last clean your office windows, service your company
car, or run round your workplace with a vacuum cleaner and a duster? There
is increasing interest in outsourcing among brokers, and although much of
the initial enthusiasm is revolving around claims handling, there is scope
for taking it further.


"Provincial brokers must now consider outsourcing as many of their
non-core activities as they can, so they can concentrate on those areas
