Insured losses from Hurricane Dean are estimated to cost between £1.5bn and £3bn, according to catastrophe modelling firm Eqecat. The insured loss estimates include business interruption as a result of the destruction of property and demand surge, but not damage caused by flooding, private and commercial automobiles or marine assets.
