The Institute of Insurance Brokers is gearing up to go live with itsself-regulatory professional body IBRC Ltd on 1 May 2001, the day after
the Insurance Brokers (Registration) Act is finally repealed.
At the beginning of last month, the IIB announced that it had set up a
company limited by guarantee to perform the functions of a regulator
following "substantial broker demand" for an alternative to the General
Insurance Standards Council.
