Methodology
This summer, 630 British brokers completed an online questionnaire addressing the service they got from their commercial insurers. Among other key aspects of service, we asked brokers to grade, on the professional capabilities of their underwriters, each insurer and managing general agent they used. Each 'excellent' grade was worth four points; each 'very good', three; each 'fair', two; and each 'poor', one.
When all results were in, we totalled up each insurer's points score - then divided it
