Legal expenses providers have hit back at the assertion by Das chief executive Paul Asplin that the UK model "had run its course".
The comments, which appeared in Insurance Age's sister title Post (6 January 2010) elicited bemusement from Das' rivals in the sector.
Mr Asplin made the statement as he announced that Das was to make a trading loss for 2009. He said: "The question is whether the UK model has run its course and if it will be replaced by the continental model - that could be a trend
