Fortis strengthens senior management team

Fortis UK has appointed Andy Watson to its executive team in the new role of managing director, retail, with immediate effect.

According to the insurer, the appointment supports the development of its multi-channel strategy to increase its product range to customers whilst supporting brokers, IFAs and affinity partners in both the non-life and life markets.

The focus of the role will be to lead Fortis's retail strategy supporting RIAS, Fortis Insurance Solutions and Fortis UK's Affinity Partnerships team.

The insurer added that the roles of Janet Connor, managing director, RIAS; Geoff Carter, managing director, Fortis

Ghost broker handed two-year suspended prison sentence

A man who sold invalid insurance policies and tried to take out car insurance for himself by covering up his driving offences and using a fake no-claims discount certificate has been sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years.

Broker Insights hones in on £6bn

Broker Insights has confirmed that brokers have uploaded £5.5bn of gross written premium to its Vision platform as it tracks towards hitting £6bn by the end of the year.
